Hey folks, it's been a long time since I've logged into the running blog (doubt anyone is still following). But, here goes...
I am returning from over a year and a half off from a torn plantar fascia. That plantar fasciitis turned out to be a slight tear according to an early MRI. There weren't any spurs, but each step out of bed in the morning was excruciating. I went through several months of physics therapy and rest (no running) but opted out of surgery. Thankfully, after several months of rehab, I no longer required the surgery. Oddly enough, MRI results couldn't find the tear! I don't know what to say, other than "yay" but it is a testament to all of the thoughts and prayers from my family and close friends. Thanks!
I've completed a couple of exploratory treadmill runs at distances of 1.5 through 3 miles without (physical) pain. There is a lot to make up, but I've got plenty of time!
Happy New Year, stay safe out there, and keep on running!
Happy running and God bless!

Over the course of my life, I've suffered through two knee surgeries, three episodes with kidney stones, dislocated my shoulder twice, bruised my ribs, and suffered a broken arm and foot. I recently tore my plantar fascia back in 2014... My son battled cancer and received a life-saving liver transplant at a very young age. I feel at times, that I am running on empty. Through your thoughts, prayers, and encouragement I find the fuel that I need to keep going.
